White Mountains August 1 -3, 2020                                                                                                                             All Images are HD (1920x1080)
One of the Bristlecone Pines in the Patriarch Grove at about 11300' in the White Mountains. (Methuselah is supposed to be the oldest tree in the world but they wont tell you which tree it is)
The Palisades Glaciers will probably be gone in a few decades. They are the southern most glaciers in the US
Checked my spare when I replaced the tire I had gashed the sidewall on. $199 tire. It's still a better deal than $1000 plus tow. I called my trip short because I don't like not having a spare off road. Locked gate leading tot the Barcroft High Altitude Research Center was a bit crowded. When I climbed White Mountain in June of 1990 I was the only one parked there. The mountains are getting crowded
Bishop with a nearby Sierra ridge that almost reaches to 14,000' (Mt Humpreys is just 14 feet short at 13,986' (above the biggest tree on the left )
White Mountain Peak (14,246' 3rd highest in California)   Basically its a long hike along a dirt road to the summit. It reminds me of the long ridge hike to the summit of Telescope Peak
The Patriarch Grove from above  (Looking east into Nevada)
