The Panamint Range with Telescope Peak
from Father Crowley's Overlook |
Telescope Peak dominates both the Death and Panamint Valleys. The vertical
drop from it's summit to Badwater in Death Valley is greater than the
drop on the front range of the Rockies or The eastern escarpment of the
Sierra Nevada. At over 11,000 feet in elevation it gets snowed on every
winter and is the highest point in Death Valley National Park. |
