I had heard
there were dunes north of Baker but hadn't managed to get there until
this trip. I didn't realize it was a O.H.V. area but it wasn't too
crowded. Access was free although Holidays from Halloween to President's
day weekend aren't. Guess it's not very crowded in the summer. There is
a sign coming down highway 127 into the area forbidding the transport of
illegal fireworks. Guess O.H.V. people can't read. They exploded
thousands of dollars worth of them the night I was there. I don't mind
the aerial show but my dog Mya went nuts for hours. I imagine they
bought them over in Pahrump Nevada where you have to sign paperwork
stating you wont use them in that county because they are illegal to use
there. Of course they are illegal in all of California which includes
the dunes. |
