Back to Across the Country
Delmar, New York to Ridgecrest, Ca September 24-30, 2019
I pretty much put the pedal to the metal to get out of the eastern congestion. Even though I took the Appalachian route with I88 to I81 to I40 it was still loaded with too much trucker traffic for my liking. I took a 2 hour nap at a rest area in Western Virginia and another 3 hours in a rest area in western Tennessee. Traffic dropped off a considerable amount after I crosses the Mississippi River. I took a room in Russellville Arkansas and after that stayed with friends in Texas and Arizona as well as camping in New Mexico and Arizona. Took half the time and almost a thousand miles left getting home from the Albany area
Memphis sky line at the Mississippi River (Middle of the bridge going west still says "Welcome to Arkansas", I remember when it included "Home of President Bill Clinton")
A Memphis bicycle gate A Tennessee pyramid (Memphis whose name came from ancient Egypt)
An Arkansas A frame At Oklahoma City the Air Force almost lands on the Interstate
New sky scraper rise in Oklahoma City (many of my photos are drive by shootings)
Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave in New Mexico
The ice cave stays icy all year because of the angle of the opening and the surround basalt insulation The Volcano crater

Holbrook Arizona
The rock formation I have camped near twice on the ridge between Bullhead City and Kingman Arizona. The area overlooks the Colorado River and Laughlin Nevada Casinos
