I had been a member of Mensa for a year and had never done anything, so I decided to show up at a gathering in Death Valley. How do you impress people that are as smart or smarter than you? I found a way, which generated the comment "Maybe alcohol shouldn't be allowed at Mensa gatherings". I didn't say favorably impressed. I didn't renew my membership, after all who would want to be part of an organization which would have me as a member. I just wanted the membership card to carry in my wallet for when I qualify for the Darwin Award.
