Patty's father had died of asbestos related lung cancer before I met her. He had been in the Navy and had worked Civil Service at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Her mother received a generous settlement from the Navy and was set for life. She didn't work when I knew her.

Patty like animals, when I met her she had a dog Sasha. We had two large dogs, Bear & Goliath before going to Japan and several cats while overseas. which we had to leave behind when returning to the States. We always had dogs and cats in Vallejo and raised French lop eared rabbits at one time.

Patty wanted was a little cottage with a white picket fence with marigolds growing wild and many children playing in the yard. (Unfortunately it didn't work out that way)

When I met her she was on welfare for no apparent reason except she was afraid to, of just wouldn't get a job. Patty had a baby sitting job when we were in Japan, after we got home she had tried baby sitting for a short time. After that she had a couple of Tupperware or crystal parties at home. Eventually it kind of evolved into:
"I would work if I had to"
"Why should I work you would only make me pay some of the bills"
"Screw you I don't have to work"
She was a Vallejo High graduate and made me lose all respect for what it takes to graduate from a California High School. Probably the same everywhere.. you old enough get out of here.
