Geothermal in Iceland
Myvatn area (Northern Iceland)
Iceland is on the mid Atlantic rift were new land is being created, mostly under the ocean. It is geologically young, with the oldest part being about 25 million years old and most of the island being about 15 million. They produce all their power from geothermal, water and wind. You can stand on a bridge that goes between North America and Europe. We saw the rift about 50 miles above Reykjavik.
I believe I can figure it out without a sign
I couldn't figure how they were getting the energy out. Didn't see any power poles
I figured it out after we got to the other side of the hills
Free geothermal shower (Woman optional)
Secret Lagoon (The Golden Circle)
Wife wasn't into it so we didn't spend the $25 each to swim
There was a small geyser that would erupt frquently next to the oldest warm swimming spot in Iceland
Greenhouses run from geothermal
Geysir (The Golden Circle)
Strokkur erupts about every 10 minutes for a very short duration, it is hard to catch a picture of the actual water. (They are working to expand the local hotel)
The unpopular side of Strokkur where you get wet  (Not scalded) The water is only there for a second or so then it's all steam
There is a sign telling you not to throw coins in the pool
Other geysers erupt less frequently or just boil (Only Strokkur was erupting with any force)
A white foam (left side) Encased in a concrete casket with relief pipes
