Panamint Valley covered in clouds after the snows
from Father Crowely view point |
Went out to the Panimant Valley where I normally
great the new year. (Didn't have son in law Scot or any
grandkids whom usually hang out with me for New Years Eve). Had
a rare snow on the 2nd of January, snowed down to at least 1000'
elevation in the Panamint Valley as well as 1700' in the Searles
Valley Trona Pinnacles area. May have even gotten even
lower if it snowed over the mountains in Death Valley. I was
told the last time the Pinnacles had snow was 1996. I was making
beer runs to Pioneer Market in Trona and after 3 or 4 days of
being socked in by clouds the lady working there was complaining
she had lived in Trona for years and hadn't ever gone so long
without seeing the sun. The Panamint Valley cleared up after a
few days. (Ridgecrest even sooner). |
