Arizona Spring Training March 4-10, 2017 |
Mojave Desert |
|
Sunrise on the Granite Mountains |
I decided to take a
desert trip before it gets too hot. Got to see and old friend Rusty and
his son Cory who had just gotten out of the Marines. I also got to see
my cousin Cindy in Glendale. I hadn't seen her in 45 years. She was nine
when I joined the Navy and left New York in 1971. The Giant's beat the
Dodgers which is always a good day even it was spring training. I got to
camp along the Granite Mountains again as well as look for the trilobite
quarry around Cadiz again. I found a nice little off road area to camp
just a few miles out of Quartzite as well as explore and camp in the
Prescott area for the first time. |

Every time I am in a Metropolitan area I'm
grateful I don't live near one. (Interstate 10 went
through Phoenix on city streets when I first went through there in
the early 70s, metropolitan area population was probably under 1 million
compared with today's 4.5 million) |
