I had company for most of my time out near Ballarat. I brought the Cherokee out on Tuesday and moved out with the trailer on Wednesday. Scot & Austin spent Thursday and Friday nights out there. Dave was out Sunday and left after me on Friday. He towed the Cherokee back to town for me so I didn't have to make two trips. Scot thinks he started coming out to Panamint Valley around New Years of 2003 when they moved back from Arizona. That would be 13 or so years. I know I was coming out alone before that, probably over 15 years.
Water in the Playa near Ballarat was gone when I left Snow up at the Wildrose Charcoal Kilns (Was slick as snot because of traffic)
My esteemed collogues (Our other neighbors were coyotes)
While in the Pleasant Canyon we spied a herd of Bighorn Sheep on one of the steep canyon walls. Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of them. This one was about the best. It is the third time I have stumbled across Bighorn and the first time there were males.

The Jeep trail between Tuber and Jail Canyons was "Closed for Wilderness Restoration. Horse and Foot Traffic Only" They closed the Jeep trail between Jail and Hall Canyon's years ago. Surprise Canyon access was closed even before that. A shrinking world for easy access. Fine if you have the time to hoof it for miles.
