Fish Creek at Troy Meadows Campground
I was told that the South Fork of the Kern River is over the road where it enters Lake Isabella, closing the road to Kernville. I decided to go up into the mountains for a few days and check on the stream and river levels. Although most the snow is gone below 8000' there is a lot of water flowing down from the high Sierra. I camped one night at the Kennedy Meadows Campground and one night at the Fish Creek Campground overflow area.
The gate at the Kennedy Meadows bridge was open. The gates near the Black Rock Ranger Station are closed. They haven't cleaned up the road above Kennedy Meadows yet.
