Mount Shasta.... was the first of the three
Cascade volcanoes I climbed (Mount Rainier and Lassen Peak being the other two).
It was the first mountain I had been on which had glaciers, we managed
to summit without having to do a glacier. Although 350 feet lower than Mt Whitney it provided a much
more impressive view because remoteness from any other major peaks in the area.
