I returned to Zermatt with my fiancé Jackie (now wife) in 1996 but we stayed in town during the 4 day visit. We took the Gonnergrat bahn (a cog railway) to Gonnergrat and walked back down to Zermatt. The walk was long and painful but we had a great view of the Matterhorn in front of us all the way down.
