  In 1983 I was one of 5 people on top on a a rainy day where we snuck up and down between lightning storms.
  In 2001 I was one of hundreds of people on top of about 1000 people who made the summit that weekend day.
  Next time I'm going to opt for mid week and hope it rains.
   
In 1972 I climbed it with a couple friends from the Navy barracks at the Combat Systems Technical School Command, Mare Island Naval Shipyard. I didn't own a camera at the time. 

In 1983 a friend Barry & I hauled a 1980's vintage portable VCR and video camera to the top in the rain.

In 1993 Barry, his brother Kevin and friend Darryl climbed it with me. My camera malfunctioned and I didn't get any pictures from the summit.

In 2001 Barry, Kevin & my friend Mike joined the summit throngs. I brought a Nikon digital still camera and 4mm DAT video camcorder.

           I have been to Yosemite dozens of times, over a dozen times on President's Day weekend alone.
          Winter is the best time to see Yosemite and avoid the huge summer crowds.
