Hey Lou. Do you know of a good place to hunt for geodes around here?
Facebook Don't call me Sir, my parents were married, to each other. (Contrary to popular belief many Officer's parents were married, just not to each other). Been waiting around town the month of May dealing with my Aunt's Estate Lawyer back in New York (She died last November and left me and my two sisters fairly well off). Finally free to get out for the first time since the Grand Canyon last month. Mike, my old climbing buddy and I are going to spend the weekend up towards Badger and Papoose Flats in the Inyos. (farther up Mazourka Rd than the Piute Monument at about 9000'). June 10-15 I'm camping with a friend from the Bay area around Shaver Lake- Edison Reservoir area on the west side of the Sierra. Around June 22nd Laughlin with the wife, her daughter and husband. Other than that I should be mostly around town, Give me a yell if you have time to get together over a couple beers. Lou
Hello Sir, Long time no talk.. How are you these days? I work way too damn much and haven't had time to play at all for quite some time now. Been meaning to give you a shout for a while and see if we can meet up for a good ole session of bull shitin. Anyhow, just checking in...
Who are you?
I have a few really special photoz, but I won't post them here. Do you have an email address I can send them to? That is if you want to see them.
You are welcome, been going through old pictures.
thanks for the photos!
Miss you old buddy.
Would be nice to see you. Keep me posted, Hope all is well with you my friend.
Not climbing much, more like hiking. Jeep & camper camping while the desert is still nice. Eventually the higher mountains or the backyard pool to get out of the heat. Thinking about getting back that way this year or next.
How ya doin you old mountain climber????
Thanks Bill, hope you have a good new year.
Merry Christmas my great friend!!!
Talk to you some other time buddy.
Are you still there??
Hey Lou......
Take care, Doyle, Betty, you, Bill are always welcome around here. June the desert is just starting to cook. Of course there would have to be a swimming pool usage fee.
Nothing going on here. Dialysis is going well. and it sounds like my nephew is blowing off my drive way Take it easy my friend. He is going to want a hot drink and smoke.
We were around 70 a couple of days ago. Today's only supposed to be in mid 50s. Gotta rough it around here.
bitter cold today with drifting snow.
Doyle is planning on a cross country trip in June add says he may stop in to visit you. Must be nice!
I got hailed on Yesterday walking the dogs. Scattered rain with light snow in the nearby mountains, blue sky today
I'm just looking at it from my warm house and could care less. My nephew will come by with my snow blower and clear my drive way then I can go out if I decide to.
Yea my sister Susan was bitching on Facebook about the people who didn't think Albany got it's fair share. (Snowfall amount was fine with her)
Going off again, kool. We had 6-8 inches of snow last nite and they treated it as the storm of the century. Boston and parts of new england did get it.though.
Just posting something to DS (my old Navy rate) Facebook site. Getting ready to go to Yosemite for a week starting next Thursday.
What up Buddy>
agreed, take care Lou
Yeah, I don't think his home dialysis works to well with a 12v car adapter. Gotta go to Archaeology class, latter.
cool, we want to hit Vegas too! Just wish we were bringing Bill with us, but he is too sick for that
In the summer our house is in between Yosemite & Las Vegas.
great! We are spending 2 months away, driving west to California and heading down RT 101.
I'm going to Yosemite Thursday. I have to go over to Bakersfield and up through Fresno because the back door is closed in winter. Tioga pass is about 200 miles north of me up US395. If you get out this way you know we'll connect, I went to Tuscon last time which is a lot farther.
hit the Enter key after you type (y)
hi Lou, Doyle and I are planning a trip to Yosemite June and July. Hope we can connect
Thanks, RIP Cousin. Been hiding in the mountains where it's 30 degrees cooler. Going back tomorrow to move the trailer because of a forest fire. Towed the old Jeep home today. (The one I can beat up on the tough 4x4 trails)
At this rate that tortoise will outlive you.
That's sad😓
Get used to it you're the baby of the bunch. It's getting to where I know more dead people than live ones.
Gone but taken too soon. Theirs not too many of you guys left.
Yes it does! Even thou he was not in a good place. He's not suffering any more.
It was expected but still it sucks
Sorry to say Dennis has joined our loves ones in heaven.
I was just at some spring training games around Phoenix. Visited cousin Cindy. First time I've seen her in 45 years. Dennis is in hospice at St Peters, terminal cancer.
Horsetail Falls, off El Capitan. Only occurs in February while we are there around President's Day . I never bother with it because they back up the road for miles and you have to get real lucky for conditions to be just right.
I'm definitely not a city boy. Liked SF years ago but now I couldn't live on the west side of the Sierra, too many people. The overcrowded stop and go freeways drive me nuts.
I'm in New York City for work talk about a country mouse in the big city!! I hate it here too many people
working on generating a web page with pics, catch you latter.
Nice cuz
Actually I came home through San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. A lot of new concrete and steel in SF near the ball park and bay bridge. I wanted to go over the new bay bridge for my first time. Tahoe to home just snow capped mountains towing 10,000' over the road.
Got into LAX @ 5 home at 9 am
ARE YOU BACK HOME?
alright lou see u
Gotta go, still working on un packing, will post pics latter tonight or tomorrow
no sand caves
Not since Carlsbad a few years ago. The Sierra are granite and don't form good limestone caves
doing any caves lately?
I towed the Jeep behind the camper so I was carrying everything, snow shoes, ice axe, crampons. Didn't use any of them
thats mess up break out the snow shoes
His weren't that great, but he insisted on a Polaroid so he would have family gathering pics immediately. Last night I was at 8000' and the dog water bowl froze. Had a day of snow at the same elevation about a week and a half ago
uncle june
June bug?
you got that from june bug
cool you always take such nice shots
Plenty, I am working on a recently update to my web site. Will probably post something in a day or so.
any photos?
Only gone 15 days, only partied with friends 2 of them
glad to see you made it back alive
they took the feeding tube out yesterday she was not doing well
An old friend who still lives in the Albany area has a son who lives in Chicago. He is a bass player whose main band is called "Hello Nuvo". He is also a very good artist who specializes in celebrities, especially musicians.
If she's alive Paylor's probably still bitching about the pool table you moved into the second floor of 714 York St. Barry Ford said the last he heard of you was when the FBI was asking him questions for your clearance when you joined the Navy. Ted Galloway has been a musician in Colorado since he left Hughes Aircraft Co in the 80's Louie Lenzenhuber
Hey Lou. I hate to share this via Facebook messenger, but my pops passed away early this morning. I know he loved you a lot. Feel free to call if you want. 518.542.8882
thanks man. I hope you are well and exploring and enjoying life as you do.
*dragon's
Hey man! It's been forever. I have been meaning to ask, is there a chance your wife still makes the dreagon's blood wax scent cubes? I'd love to buy some from her if she does.

My brother and his wife lived in Manhattan Beach, CA for a few years in the 70s.
California for most of the last 43 years. (except for 2 years in Japan in the Navy). Last 20 or so in the Mojave Desert next to the Sierra. Hawaii was so so. I've been to better tropical islands. (I don't like crowds and prefer the solitude of the high mountains)
My dad is retired Navy. Good for you. Looks like you were in Hawaii recently. Must have been fantastic. You are in California?
Thanks for the input. I always figured Gary would have a PHD in Astrophysics and work at JPL Pasadena. We were both into astronomy way back when. The only war games I played were in the Navy 1971-1977
Hi Louie- Gary Bedrosian lives in Chataugua, NY, works in State College, PA, has been married to the same woman for about 40 years, has three boys, all married (2 just this summer), a granddaughter and another grandchild on the way. Gary has a PHD in physics and likes to play war games on his computer with friends across the country. I hope you are well. I see your sister occasionally. I'll tell Gary you were asking about him. He's not, to my knowledge, on Facebook.
Scanned some pictures from one of my Grandmother Gertrude's photo albums some years back. Not sure what most of them are. I can recognize Ludwig & Gertrude in some of them. Think they are mostly Koln and her family? http://www.lenzenhuber-studios.com/genealogy/lenzenhuber/grandmas-pictures/gma-gpa.htm Maybe your father can recognize something?
Added your information to my web site. Thank You very much. I'm going over to Big Sur on the coast and up to San Francisco area and Lake Tahoe. I'll try to drop your father a line when I get back. Danke

So I can provide you with some information. Your grandfather Ludwig was born in Westerheim ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westerheim_%28Unterallg%C3%A4u%29 ). He had quite a lot of brothers and sisters - Josef (born 19.1.1905, died 26.6.1954), Veronika (18.7.06-30.10.68), Ignaz (16.11.07-20.10.47), Anton (26.8.09-1942, missed in WWII), Leonhard (7.8.11-17.9.88), Jakob (2.2.13-10.9.88, my grandfather), Juliane (13.3.15- 29.8.95), Karl (8.6.17, dies as a baby), and two sisters who died at the day of their birth (Viktoria and Maria). My father Rainer was born to Jakob Lenzenhuber and Mechthilde, born Schweinberg, on 23.2.1953, I'm born to him and Angelika, born Götz, on 24.3.82. Your grandfather's father Josef was born in Boos ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boos_%28Schwaben%29 ) on 18.3.1880 and died 8.8.1950 in Überbach ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietmannsried ), a part of the town I lived during my childhood. He was married to Maria, born Maier (7.6.1877 in Westerheim - 21.7.57 in Überbach). The parents of Josef were Ignaz (born 20.7.1846 in Boos, died 23.10.1922) and Veronika, born Schütz (30.01.1846-01.11.1915). The parents of Ignaz were Martin (born 20.01.1809 in Boos) and Viktoria, born Haupt. Of Martin's parents we only know their names: Melchior Lenzenhuber and Johanna, born Rapp, who also lived in Boos. We've got of course some more information about the family, but I though I start by sending you your direct ancestors. If you want, you can contact my father ( rainerlenzenhuber@web.de ) for more information or details.
Most of what I know of the older Lenzenhuber geneology came from my mother who got it from Ludwig Ludwig had brothers and sisters and lived in Bavaria, my father was named after his grandfather Josef Years ago I had two Lenzenhubers contact me from Germany (because of my original web site) They claimed to be related to the St Louis family (Karl ?) Not sure if I have a record of their names, I never really went anywhere with the contact. Somewhere back in time the two families were related in Germany. (one of their names may have been Max) Used the name Lenzenhuber Josef (18xx-19xx Ludwig (1901-1986) & Gertrude Joseph (1926-2013) & Mary Louis (1951- & Patricia & Jacquline (Jackie) MaryAnn (1954- Susan (1961- Ingebord (4 children) Mary Louise (1 child) Jakob (1913- ? (1953- Sebastian (19xx- Sebastian, What is your fathers name? was Josef, Ludwig & Jakobs father's name I've never contacted the St Louis Lenzenhubers so I don't know what they know.
Hello Louis, I was just talking with my father about genealogy and we ended up searching if there's some information on the American side of our family. Well, we found the lenzenhuber-studios-page and I took a look if I can find you on facebook, too. As you have quite a few informations about genealogy there, I know that your grandfather - Ludwig - was a brother of my grandfather Jakob Lenzenhuber, even if there is some age difference. My father was a late born child (in 1953 when my grandfather was 40). He has been doing some research on his forefathers too, but he isn't very fluid in English, so if you want some information, I'd be happy to translate. I can at least answer one question right away: "Huber" is a bit like "farmer", and I suppose Lenz and huber have been connected some day to one name. Have a nice week, Sebastian

I did use it, but it puts too much calcium in to your body. I tried a kind of putty that's injected in to the knee to replace the cartilage... didn't doo much. Tried the orthodics & they work great
Thanks for the info. My knees act like there is cartilage problems. I've been trying Glucosamine Chondrolitin. Doesn't seem to do much. Might check into adjusting my stance like you did. (I thought you might be using a chemical/drug solution)
These are like the ones I got from a podiatrist. The black heel is thick hard plastic and the blue part is formed for my arch.
Speciality Shoe inserts from a podiatrist... a foot Dr. They really work great
OK what's an orthotics?
Hey Dude, how's it going? I talked to Barry & he told me you were having knee problems. I have had knee pain for many years and then I went to a podiatrist about a year ago and got a pair of orthotics and they have worked for me
I got to Mare Island in 1971 and basically hung around until 1988 (except for 2 years in Japan) Sorry the name is not familiar.

Yes. He only passed yesterday.

Keep forgetting to ask you, Dylan's birthday was on the second. Did you forget to send a card or has he reached an age where you have stopped.
Last I saw her she was calling me Screwy Louie and lamenting John & I got to Woodstock and she didn't. She was looking good for a friends younger sister.
She is blonde now. She is very attractive.
Just back from a camping trip. Last I saw Joyce Bonnano was about 10 or so years ago at John's house out by Albany Muni. She had dyed her hair white, it looked good on her.
I finally met Joyce Bononno (sp) the other day. She was at the BCHS graduation. Bobby's youngest graduated too. We both had heard much about each other so it was cool to finally meet. She said to say hello.
http://www.road.is/ has road conditions and road web cams. Looks like temps are around 40F (4C) and much of the snow has melted since I last looked. Jackie said she gave Kelly travel guide pdfs we got for our trip. We didn't do much around Reykjavik except browse the shops and restaurants. She's not a big night person. I like their pizza it's thin crust NY style. They told me deep dish pizza is soup in a bowl. Have fun take pictures.
Unfortunately it is a lot darker and snow covered compared to when we were there. You are staying around Reykjavik I assume?

It is kind of like an invasion of Privacy.....Ken
Chas don't know why I finally got this today. Your mom got a hold of me back in November. Sorry about your father, at least I got to see him last June. I'm planning on getting by to see Katie next time I'm in Vallejo.
Hi Lou. This is Charles, Gary and Katie's son. My mom has been looking for your number to call you. Can you call her at 707-246-2614. Thank you.
Sounds good. Thanks.
Haven't used or ran a head cleaning cycle on my printer in a long time. I'd need to see if I can get it printing again. Right now I'm working on getting out of town to go to Yosemite for about 10 days or so. I'll try and check on the printer tomorrow, if it works OK I'll call, otherwise it would have to wait until about the 19th.
