When I was sixteen or so I was working in the cafeteria of St Peters Hospital where I met John Bonanno. He lived on Forest Avenue in Albany but was moving out to Slingerlands so I knick named him Hick. We decided to take a greyhound bus to Cape Cod. Summer of 1967 or 68? It was a milk run that hit every little berg from Albany to Hyannis. We sat in a park behind the police station and I heard some guy play Alice's Restaurant for the first time, along with some other fine songs on acoustic guitar and accompanying vocals. On the bus I remember running into Mary Jane Stout, a girl I went to high school with.
